The Folly of Fire

The devil dropped from his hand,Ocean and Fire, April 2014 2
An open flame,
to scorch the world,
Nature was appalled,
She never had yet seen,
Such a wicked thing;
Animals did shy away,
With feather, fur or carapace,
To keep warm,
But the Human,
bald, conniving-
His crutch lay wanting.
